A discussion with Augusten Burroughs

admin 21 December 2009 Pop Culture & Entertainment No Comment

Just in time for Christmas on Friday, Lil’ Ern’ and Kaine are reposting their interview with NY Times #1 Best-Selling author Augusten Burroughs. That’s right – the holidays are here…that annual season for family and giving, sharing and believing. Of course, they are also a time of unmitigated stress combined with mental illness, corruption, fatigue and (sometimes) food poisoning. The real wonder of Christmas is that anybody survives it without serious psychoactive medications, a liter of gin and a stun gun.

Given this, nobody is more qualified to chronicle the psychotic, alluring madness of the holiday season than Augusten Burroughs. And within the 206 pages and seven essays of his book, ‘YOU BETTER NOT CRY: Stories for Christmas’ he does just that. We are reposting our interview with Mr. Burroughs in which we talked to him about the book (which would make the perfect Christmas gift for anyone on your list), his life and a host of other topics. Augusten rocked and told broke it down as only he can. This podcast is our Christmas gift to you. Share it with everyone.
